'Bones', 'Bang', 'Mother', etc.

In some breathtaking pilot news, the brilliant Forest Whitaker has been tapped to play the lead on the Criminal Minds spin-off, as a former star profiler for the BAU, however he's been gone for the past eight years, having left only rumors in his wake.

How I Met Your Mother- I love this show! Great casting by HIMYM, as Jennifer Lopez joins for an episode as a no-nonsense author of self-help books who will go up against Barney because of his bad behavior to women. Anyone else worried that this show is starting to do a little too much stunt casting?

Bones- The FOX show has brought Freddy Krueger himself to guest star. Robert Englund is coming on the show to creep the bejesus out of the cast members.

The Big Bang Theory- Comic book nerds around the world, your time has come. The CBS show has cast the author of Spiderman himself, the utterly brilliant Stan Lee to come on the show for its March 1 episode.

'Desperate', 'Ugly', 'Good', 'Small', 'Super', etc.

Desperate Housewives- The ABC hit has just cast the role of a chef who idolizes Bree and her traditional ways. This role will be played by Sam Page (Joan's wayward husband on Mad Men)

Ugly Betty- This ABC comedy cast the roles of Bobby's parents, Dina (to be played by My Big Fat Greek Wedding's Lainie Kazan) and Anthony (24's Nestor Serrano). Also, even more recently, Wilhelmina's (Vanessa Williams) former flame has been cast in the form of Broadway veteran Brian Stokes Mitchell, and this role has recurring potential. Some big news for Liza fans: Liza Minnelli will pop up in an episode later in the season as a high school drama teacher.

Bones- Little more is known except that ex-American Idol winner Jordin Sparks will guest in an upcoming episode.

The Good Wife- It has just been reported that CBS' new hit show The Good Wife has wrapped filming on an episode featuring Alan Cumming as an image consultant named Eli Gold.

30 Rock- 30 Rock's Valentine's Day episode, in which Liz is reunited with several ex-lovers, has just had a member added to its cast: Jon Bon Jovi. Also returning are Jason Sudeikis, Dean Winters, and Jon Hamm.

Supernatural- The alumnus of many a sci-fi show (Smallville, Stargate SG-1) has just signed on to another one: Supernatural. This man would be "Hawkman" Michael Shanks.

Smallville-
After I recently announced some Smallville casting news, here comes another one: Odessa Rae (Leverage) will play DC villain the Silver Banshee, first appearing in Episode 16.

'Gossip', 'Grey's', 'Smallville' Casting Scoop

Gossip Girl- The CW has confirmed this big casting: Billy Baldwin is set to play Serena's father, and he is waiting in the wings to wreak havoc on Serena (Blake Lively) and her mother's (Kelly Rutherford) lives.

Grey's Anatomy- The hit ABC drama has casted younger versions of Chief and Ellis (Meredith's mother), for an upcoming flashback-filled episode entitled "Time Warp". Playing young Richard (the Chief) will be J. August Richards of Angel, and Sarah Paulson from Cupid will fill the role of young Ellis.

'Glee' Casting News and More

Glee- A couple biggies today: First off, Neil Patrick Harris will (barring disapproval by CBS) appear later this season (in an episode directed by Joss Whedon, no less) and will certainly have some time for singin' and dancin'. Also, Jennifer Lopez is in talks to appear for one or maybe more episodes as a cafeteria worker. Lastly, Lea Michele was making a big push for Justin Timberlake to appear. This piece of news, as of now, appears to be merely hearsay and rumor, while the other two are legit. NPH and Glee? Wonderful music.

CSI: Miami- Don't have much information, save for a post on Rob Zombie's blog. As some may know, he is directing an upcoming CSI: Miami episode, and apparently, it will have some pretty big name guest stars. This includes: Malcolm McDowell, Paul Blackthorne, William Forsythe, and Michael Madsen.

Not too much so far today, and I will be sure to let you know if anything else falls my way.

Kevin Bacon? WHAT?!?

I just read that Kevin Bacon said he was going to guest on ABC's Modern Family. Wow, this show's cast just keeps getting better and better!!! I am eternally in awe of the people this show can cast. Another great one!

Casting News

It's been a while, and I'm going to be changing things up around here. I will just attempt to gather all the casting/pilot scoops from around the Interweb and post them here.

The Suite Life on Deck- Football great Kurt Warner is set to guest on Disney's hit series. From the picture I saw (Kurt Warner dressed in a lot of sequins), it shall be interesting.

House- Recently, House star Olivia Wilde confirmed that Jennifer Morrison would be reappearing.

Parks & Recreation- After a series of good guest stars this season, NBC's P&R adds another one. John Larroquette will show up as a former flame of Leslie's mother.

Hung- After bringing the crazy with her character Jemma in Season 1, Natalie Zea will be back, at least for some amount of time, on season 2. She also is working on FX's series Justified with Timothy Olyphant.

Damages- Always a show with an excellent cast, Damages has recruited ex-Sopranos star Dominic Chianese to play a man associated with the Tobin family in a multi-episode arc.

Ugly Betty- A star of the award-winning AMC show Mad Men will be showing his face as a Betty love interest on ABC's comedy. Rich Sommer will play a working class fireman ready to romance Betty.

NCIS- It has been confirmed that Gena Rowlands has been cast in a potentially recurring role as Joann, Gibbs' high society mother-in-law.

Cougar Town- Look who's dropping in! Beverly D'Angelo will play Laurie's (Busy Philipps) white trash mother in an upcoming episode.

Modern Family- You all know I love the casting they've done over at this ABC comedy. And their most recent casting is just as brilliant: Judy Greer will pop up as an ex-girlfriend of Phil (Ty Burrell) who reconnects with him through Facebook.
